A CAST Affiliate is the entry-level team within the CAST ecosystem—perfect for students and young adults who want to get involved quickly, learn the basics, and begin building momentum in their school or community. Affiliates are small teams of 2–4 youth supported by one adult advisor, committed to hosting at least one impact activity each year.

Your Affiliate is more than a “first step”—it’s the spark that ignites a chapter.

Who Can Start an Affiliate?

Requirements

Any young person ages 12–25 can start a CAST Affiliate with:

2–4 members
One adult advisor
A willingness to learn and serve

CAST Network

Affiliates work in:

Schools
Libraries
Community centers
Youth programs
Neighborhood groups
Homeschool networks

Opportunity is Limitless

If you can gather two people and care about your community, you can start an Affiliate.

Affiliate Responsibilities

Hold one event or workshop per year
Attend a virtual onboarding session
Submit one activity report annually
Maintain at least one adult advisor
Follow CAST safety expectations

Affiliates are intentionally lightweight and accessible—perfect for busy youth leaders.

Pathway to Becoming a Full CAST Chapter

Once your Affiliate grows to:

5+ members
3+ events per year
At least one certified AI Navigator
Basic chapter structure (officers)
